Ekwe beefs up Harbour-RP 5

SAN Beda College’s Nigerian center, Sam Ekwe, will reinforce the Harbour-RP Team that will defend the South East Asia Basketball Association club championship on April 3-7 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The 6-foot-7 Ekwe will give the PBL four-time champion team a refreshing look in the four-team tourney.

Veteran PBA import Julius Nwosu and journeyman Vidal Massiah reinforced the Mikee Romero-owned team last year when Harbour beat host Indonesia for the title, the country’s first since the lifting of the International Basketball Federation suspension on the Philippines.

Romero thanked the San Beda College community, especially Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas President Manny V. Pangilinan, and the NCAA Management Committee for allowing the former league MVP to play for the country.

"We are excited to have Sam as our import for the coming tournament. I’m really thankful for San Beda and NCAA Mancom for allowing Sam to play for the country," said Romero.
