Top bands Callalily, Sandwich, Blue Ketchup, Wake Up Your Seatmate and Manibela opened a sizzling summer on a high note when they performed their hits at the launch of "Nestea Beach 2008" recently held at the Market! Market! Activity Cente at The Fort.

The mall event gave mall-goers a preview of the vibrant beach life through lots of great "beach" activities that everyone will enjoy this summer, according to Nestlé AVP and Nestea consumer marketing manager Tina Samaco. Joining Samaco at the launch were other Nestlé and Nestea officials, Nestlé cluster head for beverages Carlos Vergara and Nestea brand events specialist Ronald Chuacokiong.

Hosted by MYX VJ Mica and DJ John Hendrix, the event offered mall goers exciting performances from popular bands, and lots of activities like free air brush tattoo and photo sessions.

Those with the knack for hosting made their way to the "VJ Search" booth to shoot their summer video entry to the "Nestea Beach 2008 B* on TV VJ Search," a contest where three lucky winners will get a chance to co-host "Nestea Beach 2008" with "Pinoy Big Brother" stars Will Devaughn, Riza Santos and Gabby de la Merced.

As part of its "Love the Beach" campaign, Nestea also offered premium Nestea items like shirts and the limited edition "Nestea Beach" tumblers for sale. Proceeds from the sales of Nestea items will benefit the beach clean-up activities in Coral Garden Marine Park, Island Garden City of Samal, and in Boracay on April 25. "Nestea Beach 2008" also features the "Nestea Beach Volley National Circuit," an event that showcases more competitive beach volley matches from the country’s best collegiate beach volley teams, as well as concerts, fashion shows, parties and celebrity games in Boracay.

The Luzon eliminations are scheduled on March 25 to 27 at Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park in Cavite, while the Visayas eliminations takes place on April 8 to 10 at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod. Semis and championship action will happen in Boracay from April 24 to 26.
