Chocolate recipes for Easter


DISCOVERY SHORES BORACAY’s Easter weekend offers various celebrations for the whole family, beach bombs and adventure lovers. If Willy Wonka had his way he’ll hit the beach and go to Candyland at Discovery Shores with life’s sweetest pleasures. The holiday will be celebrated with an Easter Day mass at 11:30 a.m. at the Lounge. Guests can begin the day with Breakfast with the Bunnies from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at Sands restaurant that includes a glass of Mimosa or fresh orange juice, and the chef’s sumptuous morning delights. Indulge on succulent lunch selections at the Fresh and Light Market Buffet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The banquet includes fresh marine catches and entrees. Take the kids to the beachfront for an Easter egg hunt at 3 p.m. Entrance is at P400 per person inclusive of treats for the young ones. Enjoy dinner during Holy Week with the chef’s themed buffet dinners from 7 to 10 p.m. featuring Mexican treats on Holy Thursday; the goodness of Greek culinary masterpieces on Good Friday; the lively tastes and colors of gourmet Asian Fusion food on Black Saturday; and the flavor of real Italian cookery on Easter Sunday.

CENTURY PARK HOTEL catches the Olympic spirit this Easter with a hearty fare and fun activities for the whole family at the Century Ballroom. It includes a buffet brunch from 9 a.m. to 12 noon with dishes prepared by executive chef Rudy Velasco. Pamper your palate with braised beef, Pork Zurchoise, Salmon Steak with dill saffron sauce, grilled boneless teriyaki, and assorted dim sum. Cap off the meal with desserts such as blueberry cheese cake, passion bread slice with vanilla sauce, lychee sago and gulaman. A refillable station of Nai-Cha milk tea is also available. Not to be missed are the limited edition flavors of Nestle ice cream for dessert. Favorite Easter activities such as magic show, balloon twisting, face painting, glimmer tattoos, an acrobat show, egg hunting for all the kids, plus games will also be part of the celebration. The first 50 kid attending the event will receive a Sand Blast art kit.The Sports Challenge Combo inflatable Jump Bounce N’ Play will also be set up for toddlers.

SHANGRI-LA PLAZA stages a grand celebration on March 23. Visit the Grand Atrium with the whole family for the Easter Farm Party. There will be an Easter egg hunt, magic and acrobat shows, games, food and party booths plus loot bags with delightful farm animals. Registration fee is P250
