3 fires in Pasig, Mandaluyong
FOUR people were hurt in a midmorning fire that destroyed
some 30 houses in Mandaluyong City yesterday.

Tosa, all residents of Martinez Homes Welfare View Compound sustained burns and
were brought to different hospitals after the two-hour fire.

Morales said the cause of the blaze is still being investigated.
The Mandaluyong fire came on the heels of two fires in Pasig
City, one of them occurring last Sunday night at the top floor of an abandoned
building in Ortigas Center in Pasig City. Fire investigators said the fire could
have been caused accidentally by workers using an acetylene torch to dismantle
parts of a small transmission tower.
A second fire which broke out at the corner of Sampaloc and De Castro streets
in Barangay Rosario was put out quickly. No casualties were recorded. –
