David’s Salon recently held its Hair Olympics
8 at the Forum, PICC. Open to all David’s Salon hairstylists
from all over the country, the hair show unearthed major talents
from the ranks of David’s Salon’s hairstylists. This annual show
is now on its eighth year.
Scissors were sharpened, styling skills and
creative imagination were put to the test in six categories that
brought out the best in David’s senior as well as junior
stylists.
The ladies’ commercial category sought out
the best hairstyle imaginable for daytime and everyday wear.
Movement was key in this category and the style with great
bounce and movement won the grand prize for Olive Ratao, senior
stylist from David’s Robinsons Galleria.
Ruel Samonte, senior stylist of David’s SM
Bicutan 1 dominated the ladies’ evening hairstyle category which
emphasized drama, impact and elegance.
The men’s commercial category placed
importance on defining hairstyles for men. The basic criteria
here was that the style should be wearable for both daytime and
nighttime. Rizza Alarde, senior stylist of David’s Olongapo was
the big winner for the in this category.
The juniors’ cut and blowdry was open to all
junior staff below 30 years old. Participants were subjected to
30 minutes of cutting and blow drying. Merlita Dacutanan, junior
stylist of David’s SM Bicutan 1 emerged as the winner.
The cover look category was the most exciting
category wherein only photographs of the style entries decided
the fate of the winner. The winners were: Potch Pinlac from
Malolos branch for ladies commercial; Eva Marie Tinio of SM
Manila, for men’s commercial; and Lilibeth Bartolay of Robinsons
Place, for ladies’ evening hairstyle. The winning photos will be
featured in David’s Salon bus ads.
