'For example, there are speculations that Norman is a heavy drinker. Is this true?'

Sheryl surprised
by husband's revelations

IT'S her choice to remain loveless for now, according to comedienne-singer Angelica Jones. She broke up with her Fil-Am boyfriend, who looks like the late Rico Yan, the brother of her ex-boyfriend Bobby Yan, not because she no longer loves the guy, but because she wants to be free from any commitment at the moment.

"Kaya mas mahigpit ang bonding nila ng kanyang ina na si Beth ngayon," said somebody close to them. "Mama's girl naman talaga kasi 'yang si Angelica. She knows that her mom will do anything - everything - to keep her happy and contented."

The source continued: "Aminin na natin that they sometimes become a laughing-stock dahil marami rin naman silang pagkakamali pero 'di nangangahulugang 'di sila matino. They are.

"I can vouch for Angelica's being not only a good daughter but a good person as well kaya naman, maliban sa kapalpakan na ina-attribute lang naman sa kanila kung minsan, wala tayong nababalitaan na masama tungkol sa kanyang reputasyon.

"It's a pity that she has no regular TV assignments when she can deliver naman."

In between assignments, Angelica and her mom can always rely on her mom's earnings from her buy and sell business. Angelica also gets invited for shows not just in the country but also abroad.

A month after the news of her separation spread, Sheryl Cruz has chosen to remain mum. Nothing has been heard from her although there are talks that there are other reasons behind their breakup, reasons aside from the ones which her ex Norman Bustos revealed in an interview with a movie writer who is close to her and her aunt, Susan Roces.

For example, there are speculations that Norman is a heavy drinker. Is this true? We asked Dolor Guevarra, the talent manager who handles Sheryl and Susan's career.

"Maski sa akin, walang sinasabi sa aking dahilan si Sheryl tungkol sa kanilang paghihiwalay," Dolor answered. "According to her, she was surprised as I was and, obviously, everyone else, with the statements Norman gave to Ricky Lo, which the latter published in his column.

"When he came over a few days before his announcement that it is over between him and Sheryl, I didn't sense any problem between them.

"Kung sabagay, until now, wala tayong ideya why Sheryl's parents (the late Ricky Belmonte and Rosemarie Sonora, who is now married to an American) separated. And it's likely na 'di na natin malalaman kahit kailan, since Rose, like Sheryl, wants the issue to be over."

Sheryl and Norman were married for more than 10 years. They have an eight-year-old daughter, Ashley, who is the spitting image of Sheryl. Mother and daughter reside here in the Philippines.

Kris Aquino will reportedly announce everything about her interesting condition in "The Buzz" next Sunday. She used to host the entertainment talk show with Boy Abunda and Cristy Fermin until she took a maternity leave and decided to devote more time with her growing family. She has since been replaced by Ruffa Gutierrez.

Speculations are rife that Kris' current pregnancy is difficult, just like the previous one when she was heavy with her second son, James Yap Jr. But people who are close to Kris, including her husband James, neither confirm nor deny the rumors. In fact, whenever James is asked about Kris' condition, his usual brief answer is: "Itanong n'yo na lang kay Kris."

Kris' belly is still not showing as she is just in her early months of pregnancy. But this early, it is said that she has already hired a doctor who specializes in high-risk pregnancy to look after her.

By the way, James, Jr. will turn one on April 19. Kris' eldest son, Joshua (father is Phillip Salvador), will turn 14 in June.
