ONGRATULATIONS to
new parents, Angelika de la Cruz and her non-showbiz husband, Orion Cesario.
Angelika gave birth to their firstborn, whom they will name
Gabriel, last March 20 at the UERM Hospital. The baby weighed 6.12 pounds.
"Akala niya, normal ang kanyang panganganak,
pero na-caesarian siya," related someone close to the actress.
Angelika was expected to give birth first week of April. She
plans to breastfeed her baby.

Yes, they are in love.
We are referring, of course, to JC de Vera and Rhian Ramos.
He visited her on the set of "Zorro" in faraway Bataan. Rhian stars with Richard
Gutierrez in the series.
"Uwian siya," said our source. "Walang
accommodation sa mga dalaw sa location.
"Let’s face it. Ang layo rin ng Bataan sa
Manila. Kaya unless very important sa ‘yo ang dinadalaw mo, ‘di mo
siya pupuntahan."
JC and Rhian met and became close during the taping of "La
Lola," a series on GMA 7. It was not long before they fell in love.
Come to think of it, did we hear it right that Annabelle Rama,
JC’s talent manager, would not have raised a howl had her son, Richard, whom she
also manages, fallen for Rhian, too?
"Alam mo naman ako," said Annabelle. "’Pag magaling
magsalita ng ingles ang babae at galing sa mahusay na pamilya, bow ako."
Rhian is the niece of Ida Henares, head of GMA Artist Center,
the talent and discovery arm of GMA 7.
Rhian will also play the leading lady of Senator Bong Revilla
in the movie, "Panday."

Kristel Romero had no idea that the gathering which her Aunt
Ness (Alma Moreno, to you and me) organized recently in Cebu where all their
relatives were invited would be the latter’s wedding.
Reports had it that Alma married the mayor of Marawi City
last week.
"Sayang that I was not able to attend what was
supposed to be a most important event in Tita Ness’ life," said Kristel. "Pero
alam naman ni Tita Ness beforehand why I couldn’t attend the occasion. I had
to tape for ‘I Love Betty la Fea’."
But she has met the guy, Kristel revealed, at her 18th
birthday last January. Alma threw a party for her.
"Nandun si Mayor," Kristel recalled. "But she didn’t
introduce him to us and my other guests as her fiancé."
Kristel admits she idolizes her Auntie Ness. If she can only
attain even half of the popularity Alma enjoyed in her prime as an actress,
Kristel said she would be more than satisfied.
But for Alma to be recognized, she went bold, especially in
the early days of her career, we reminded Kristel. Is she willing to do the same
thing?
Kristel’s reply was fast: "Why not?
"Huwag lang masyadong garapal, I’m willing to show
flesh – if necessary."
Aside from "I Love Betty la Fea," Kristel is also a regular
in ABS-CBN’s Sunday musical show, "ASAP ’09." Like her Tita Ness, Kristel is
sexy and a good dancer, too.
She hits the big screen for the first time via "And I Love
You So" with Bea Alonzo, who plays the title role in the series "I Love Betty la
Fea." "And I Love You So" also has Sam Milby and Derek Ramsey in the cast.

Speaking of Derek, a source close to him denies the report
that he nearly called it quits with girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban. In fact,
the two just came home, our informer said, from a pictorial for Swatch Watch in
Palawan.
Both Derek and Angelika are endorsers of the timepiece which
is Swiss made and has for its local franchisee Virgie Ramos, whose family also
owns the National Book Store chain.
"Actually," the same source revealed, "napaka-smooth
sailing ng relasyon nila. Since they have been on for about three years,
they both know each other well."
Derek is in two films right now. He is Maricel’s leading man
in the horror-suspense Star Cinema flick, "T2" and is in the aforementioned Star
Cinema movie, "And I Love You So."
He is the partner of Judy Ann Santos in the upcoming series, "Humingi Ka sa
Langit," on ABS-CBN.
