By ROSARIO T. GALANG

BORACAY—The Philippines may have more than 7,000 islands but there can only be one Boracay.

And Filipinos can enjoy more the island since South East Asian Airlines has partnered with top notch hotels led by Microtel to offer special packages.

For close to only P8,000 airfare and accommodation are covered.

Now it is up to the traveler how much he will spend on food and the things that make a vacation memorable.

Vacationists always return to Bora, eager to experience again, la dolce vita.

This time, there are many more accommodations that can cater to any type of visitor, be it students, yuppies, G , X, or any generation.

Try Microtel. It is in Diniwid, or Station 1 of the island. It is far from the noise and bustle of Station 2 but it has its own slice of beach.

Microtel, according to Dean Cid, has the best beds to offer in the island, and he is right.

Guests first comments in the morning are invariably how well they slept the night before.

Talking with Dean and Annie Convocar of Boracay Tropics prove how well Filipinos can pamper guests, one of the reasons, why guests keep returning.

Microtel, a no-frills hotel and Boracay Tropics, which prides itself on its eye for detail, offer excellent service.

Staff in the two hotels are friendly, solicitous without being obstrusive.

It will always be a joy to be with smiling compatriots eager to help and assist.

Seair is now offering special discounted one-way rate of only P1,890++ for selected daily flights to Boracay (Caticlan).

This offer is valid from March 15 to June 15, 2007.

There are 4,000 seats allocated for this promo package.

And there’s more. For every family traveling together, one child companion 12 years old and below will be free of charge.

This provides travelers an opportunity to bring their whole family for bonding in the most popular summer destination in the country.

Seair flies passengers from Manila to Caticlan (Boracay) in only 35 minutes – the fastest flight to Boracay offered by a local airline.

"The Dornier 328 aircraft significantly reduces travel time for tourists, thereby allowing them to maximize their travel schedule and reach this major destination with less hassle. Our passengers will be able to make more fulfilling overnight trips or even day trips to resort destinations," said Patrick Tan, vice president for Commercial Affairs of Seair.

This summer season, Seair is offering up to 28 flights to Caticlan (Boracay) daily, with its planes departing from Manila in 30-minute intervals.

Seair also announced that it now offers Caticlan (Boracay) – Busuanga (Palawan) flights.

Sun worshippers can now have the best of both worlds: the exciting sights and flavors of white-sand Boracay as well as the natural beauty and rich diversity found in the marine sanctuaries of Busuanga, Palawan.

Foreign travelers are now able to conveniently get the most out of their island-hopping experience with this latest route provided by Seair.

Dean said that Microtel is the first international chain to open in Boracay.

Diniwid Beach Hotel Corp. is the Boracay franchise holder of the US-based Microtel chain.

Microtel has 51 rooms. The two-storey hotel offers double and suite accommodations, all with Chiropractic-approved beds.

Microtel also has its own sewage treatment plant as part of its commitment to preserving the environment.

Dean said the treated water is used in flushing the toilet and in watering the plants.

At present there are eight Microtels in the Philippines (Baguio, Tarlac, Cavite, Batangas, Boracay and soon to open in Davao, Cabanatuan and Mactan, Cebu).

Microtel is the hospitality arm of the Phinma Group. For reservations, please contact its Manila Sales Office at 02-8109526 or email sales@microtelphilippines.com . You may also log on to www.microtelphilippines.com or www.microtelinn.com for more details.

Dean explained that travellers by choosing Microtel can spend their money to experience Boracay to its fullest.

Do watersports, shop to your heart’s content, bargain for pearls, what is a visit to Boracay without buying pearls? Travellers can also go island hopping.

From Manila, visitors can travel by air to Caticlan Airport or Kalibo Airport (45 minutes). From Caticlan Airport, take a short ride by bus or van to the jetty port.

An outrigger boat will take visitors to Boracay Island in 20-30 minutes. If landing in Kalibo Airport, take a 2-hour ride by bus or van to Caticlan.

Caticlan is the jump-off point to Boracay. Bancas transport passengers from Caticlan to Boracay Island.

Microtel at Diniwid Beach, is at the more
private and quiet part of the island were you could relax, bask under the sun and take a refreshing dip into crystal blue waters without the crowd and noise of the main beach.
