Intel volunteers build
materials recovery facility

THE Intel Involved Environment Team, in cooperation with the General Trias Municipal Environment Office (MENRO), participated in Earth Day 2008 with the construction of the Mini-Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in the municipality. Intel’s corps of employee volunteers, and community leaders built the wood and chicken wire waste containers that will serve as the repository of recyclable trash.

With this MRF, the General Trias municipality starts its year round campaign to seek the cleanest barangay. This endeavor promotes the value of recycling among the community folks, as well as promoting the effective methods of solid waste management.

Intel extends the effects of its own commitment to sustainability by taking a leadership position in promoting voluntary environmental initiatives. In General Trias, Cavite, Intel works proactively with the municipal government and community leaders in driving programs that enhance the environmental sustainability of the municipality.
