Mom’s day off

Lifestyle diva and tv host Michelle Simone will treat Moms to a day of workshops, fashion shows, and great style in Mom’s Day Off on May 13 at the SM Megamall atrium.

Simone is the host of Entertaining at Home, a 30-minute show on the Lifestyle Network that presents how to’s in mounting and hosting themed parties at home.

A craft, cooking and home decorating expert, as well as party planner extraordinaire, Simone is not a celebrity but a real housewife turned businesswoman, with a solid background in the topics the show covers. These range from decorating homes and preparing the menu for the party.

The best part is that Simone matches the audience’s profile – young homemaker and career woman who finds joy in delighting her friends with home cooked meals, ensuring her home is beautiful, comfortable and fun to live in.

Mom’s Day Off takes Entertaining at Home to the mall with special Mother’s Day topics. It begins at 1 p.m. with Scent of a Mother, a perfume making demonstration by Godiva and skin care tips from YSA.

Moms take centerstage at 1:30 p.m. in Spotlight on Mommy, a fashion walk for plus-sized women. Cool and creative Moms can join in Jewelry Making for Fashionista Mothers by Bead Shop at 2 p.m.

A take-off from the cooking segment of her show, which has become known for easy to prepare party oriented recipes, is an Ice Cream Sandwich Making cooking demonstration at 3 p.m. by Frito Frio. It’s mother-daughter fashion time at 4 p.m. with the Mommy and Me fashion show by Gingersnaps.

One of the highlights of the day is the Michelle Simone magazine launch at 5 p.m. It is a magazine that presents great ideas for entertaining at home. She ends Mom’s Day at 6 p.m. by saying it with flowers in Flower Arranging How-to and Flower Cutting and Caring demos.
