El Shaddai goes 5-5-2

THE El Shaddai will endorse five candidates each from Team Unity and Genuine Opposition and two independent candidates, a source from Team Unity said Wednesday.

The source identified the TU candidates as Prospero Pichay, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Michael Defensor, Joker Arroyo and Edgardo Angara and the GO candidates as Benigno Aquino III, Francis Escudero, Manuel Villar, Panfilo Lacson and Loren Legarda. The two independents are Francis Pangilinan and Gregorio Honasan.

"This is a national team for national reconciliation," the source said in Cebu City where the TU held a miting de avance. The crowd was estimated at 15,000.

The El Shaddai had initially decided to endorse four each from GO and TU and two independents.

The Iglesia ni Cristo will reportedly endorse six candidates from Team Unity, five from GO and an independent candidate.

Sources from Team Unity said the six candidates are Arroyo, Angara, Defensor, Zubiri, Ralph Recto and Tito Sotto.

The rest are GO candidates Legarda, Villar, Lacson, Escudero and Aquino and Pangilinan. – Wendell Vigilia
