Sarah Geronimo’s long wait is over. Last
Thursday, she had her first shooting day with John Lloyd Cruz.
The project is her launching movie, a co-production between Star
Cinema and Viva Films.
Work on the film has been delayed many times
because of Sarah’s hectic schedule here and abroad. Filipinos in
the US and Canada clamor for Sarah’s shows. She also became busy
with several endorsements for Jollibee, Cebuana Lhuiller,
HerBench, AMA University, Charmee, Islander Footwear, E-aji Dip
Snacks Potato Chips, Hapee Toothpaste Gel, Extreme Magic Sing
Videoke Microphone, Belo Medical Group, Magnolia Health Tea,
among others.
Sarah and her manager, Vic del Rosario, had
to turn down many shows just so her launching movie will push
through.
"I got excited when I learned that my movie
with John Lloyd will push through," says Sarah. "I’ve been
waiting for this film for a long time now."
Her director, Kathie Molina, will finalize
the movie’s title.
Besides the movie, Sarah also did a duet with
Backstreet Boy member Howie Dorough in Los Angeles recently. The
duet, "I’ll Be There," will be included in Sarah’s new album to
be released in time for her birthday in July.
She just came back from an almost-one-month
concert series in the US and Canada with fellow champions
Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista and Erik Santos
She recently swept the MYX Music Awards,
where she won four trophies, the most by any nominee this year:
Favorite Song for "Ikaw," Favorite Artist, Favorite Female
Artist and Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ
Sarah’s other awards are People of the Year
from People Asia Magazine, Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice
Award, PLDT Plaque of Recognition, "Ang Pinaka Sikat na Female
Singer" from Q-11’s "Ang Pinaka," Best Variety Program for
"Little Big Star" at the 20th
KBP Golden Dove Awards, Female Artist awardee (for the "Taking
Flight" album), First ASAP 24K Awards and Compilation awardee ("Hotsilog")
and Third ASAP Platinum Circle Awards.
"The blessings come one after another. I’m
super thankful for all that’s happening in my career," says
Sarah.
The Pop Princess is also thankful that she
has finished building her dream house for her family. The house
came from Sarah’s hard-earned money. And those who have seen the
house are impressed because only a few young people can do what
Sarah did. She prioritized saving her family over her personal
needs and wants.
"Sarah is a good person," volunteers someone close to her.
"She herself says she doesn’t enjoy spending her money in
luxuries."
