WE asked Raymond Gutierrez
when we guested in "Showbiz Central" if he foresaw the split up of his Ate Ruffa
from Yilmaz Bektas. "No, I didn’t see it coming," he says. "When we visited Ate
Ruffa in Istanbul, they were so happy and even Yilmaz’ family was so good to us.
Last Christmas, Yilmaz came here to spend the holidays with our family and he
even joined all of us in our stay in Baguio. I didn’t have an inkling that
they’ll break up. Whatever problems Ate had with her husband, kay Mommy
lang niya nako-confide so we don’t know anything about it."
After his mom broke down and sobbed on TV, Raymond quickly
comforted her. But even if she was crying, Annabelle Rama still found time to
spew acid on "a starlet" who she reprimanded for giving advice to Ruffa.
"Nagbibigay ng advice kay Ruffa, hindi naman
siya kilala ni Ruffa, hindi naman siya kasama sa wedding. Ang
gusto ko magbigay ng advice kay Ruffa, yung mga ninong at ninang
niya, yung involved sa wedding. Pero yang starlet na yan,
napakatapang magsabing kakilala niya si Yilmaz. Umpisa pa lang daw nina
Ruffa at Yilmaz, nandun na siya, samantalang na-meet niya lang si
Yilmaz through Ruffa.
"Puede ba, mga trying hard, gusto n’yong magka-publicity,
‘wag maki-ride on, tigil-tigilan ang advice sa anak ko, okay?
Pasikatin n’yo na lang ang mga tinda-tinda nyo sa katawan ng mga tao riyan."
She’s apparently referring to Jessica Rodriguez-Bunevacz who
was asked during the Miss Ugly No More presentation of its three finalists as to
what she can say about the Ruffa-Yilmaz split up. We think Jessica means well
and, in all fairness, she was just asked about it and did not initiate it. If
Annabelle wants Ruffa to be left alone, then Jessica should just stop making any
comments about her.

After her acclaimed portrayal as Charming in "Bakekang," it’s
not surprising that GMA-7 gives a lead role to Yasmien Kurdi in "Pati Ba Pintig
ng Puso," a remake of a Sharon Cuneta movie. "I was really surprised when I was
told I’d play the role of the megastar and I also get to sing the theme song,"
she says. "Siempre, kabado ako. I saw the movie and I promise to do my
best so as not to disappoint those who’ve seen it on the big screen. I will play
the role of Jenna while JC De Vera plays Aldrin, who comes from a very wealthy
family. "Magkakabata kami but I am just their housemaid. When his dad,
Tito Eddie Gutierrez, forces him to marry Karel Marquez, to spite his family,
pinakasalan niya ako kahit katulong lang ako."
Fans of his love team with Rainier Castillo feel bad that
it’s not Rainier who’s her leading man here. "Siguro, for a change
naman, kasi we’re still in ‘Hokus Pokus’ every Saturday and in ‘SOP’ every
Sunday. Isa pa, funny kasi si Rainier. Baka matawa ang mga tao pag
nagdadrama na siya. Si JC, kasundo ko naman at wala nang ilangan sa amin."
Is it true she’s willing to pose nude for PETA (People for
Ethical Treatment of Animals) after she became a vegetarian? "It’s true,
ayoko ng kumain ng patay na hayop kasi kawawa naman sila. But I’m not posing
nude naman to dramatize our cause. Sexy siguro, but not fully
nude."
"Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso" debuts this Monday, May 21, on
GMA-7’s "SineNovela" after "Daisy Siete" and before "Sinasamba Kita."
