Barkada dance contest

Multi-talented teen heartthrob Sam Concepcion recently launched Dunkin’ Donuts’ hippest national dance competition dubbed as "Dunkin’ Donuts Icy Coolers Dance Dunkdown."

The event is geared for kids and young adults to get busy with this summer season. It also aims to build camaraderie. At the end of this activity, Dunkin’ Donuts believes that the representatives from each region will surely discover that each of them is uniquely talented in their own special way.

To add spice to the event, Dunkin’ Donuts tied-up the activity to its summer drink, known as Icy Coolers which has five variants: Icy Apple, Icy Grape, Icy Orange, Icy Choco and Icy Tea, which will surely quench the thirst of the dance aficionados.

The dance competition will happen simultaneously across all regions and it promises to be a dance dunkdown of the coolest moves and smoothest grooves that the group can rave about.

"This is one incredible way for the barkada to spend summer," says Sam.

The competition is composed of amateur dance groups of six to eight members. There will be two categories: Kids (8 to 12 years old) and Adults (13 to 20 years old).

The coolest 16 hip hop dance groups from NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will converge in Manila to compete at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia in a star-studded grand finals night on May 28. The event will be hosted by some of today’s celebrity dance enthusiasts: Vhong Navarro with Sam Concepcion and the Streetboys.

Awaiting the grand champion is P100,000 cash prize, while the runner-up will receive P50,000 cash prize.
