Debutantes turn tour guides

It is a walk back in time tonight in "The Debutante" as the remaining girls take a tour in the historic Intramuros to showcase their sense of pride and heritage as true Filipinas. However, it will not be a leisurely sightseeing for the girls for they need to endure the summer heat while listening attentively and performing the tasks assigned to them.

To complete the total Filipina look, the girls will be asked to wear a Filipiniana or a Terno, wherein they need to choose the right dress for them and endure the fabric under the heat of the unforgiving sun. Their bakya or wooden slipper will also add to their suffering as they need to wear these all the time during the tour.

The girls will be taking a brief tour and rundown of history with the very animated and famous Carlos Celdran – with his trademark non-stop and fast talking sure to challenge the girls to be more attentive.

But the main challenge, however, is for the girls to become tour guides themselves. They will be grouped into pairs and together, they must look for some foreign tourists in the area whom they can tour around and give a memorable tour. They need to rely on their basic knowledge about the Philippines and from what they will learn from Carlos.

During the entire day, the girls will be observed and judged by Carlos and Abby Arenas. Aside from giving her advice and comments, Abby will be with the girls most of the time to support them like a big sister. What the girls don’t know is that Abby will be taking notes even during off-challenges.

Find out tonight who among the remaining girls will shine in this challenge. "The Debutante" airs every Monday, 7:15 p.m. on Q-11.
