TEN armed men raided the Victory Liner bus
terminal in Cubao, Quezon City before midnight Thursday and
burned three buses.
Reports reaching the Quezon City police said
the men, in ball caps and jackets, entered the bus terminal
compound at Denver and Chicago streets in Barangay Pinagkaisahan
at around 11:15 p.m.
They described themselves as "taong labas," a
term used to describe members of the New People’s Army.

operations vs bank robbers
FOUR members of an organized crime syndicate
were killed as members of Task Force RCBC conducted follow-up
operations in Tanauan City, Batangas.
Police are determining if the slain suspects
were part of a group that last Friday massacred 10 people in a
robbery at the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation bank in
Cabuyao, Laguna.
Operatives of the task force started
surveillance operations Wednesday afternoon in identified lairs
of criminal gangs in Tanauan City.

contractors held
liable for Glorietta blast

THE Department of Justice has recommended the
filing of criminal charges against eight contractors of Ayala
Land Inc., who were held responsible for the Glorietta mall
blast that killed 11 people.
In a 51-page joint-resolution, the DOJ’s Task
Force Glorietta cleared ALI and its sub-company, Ayala
Properties Management Corp. (APMC) from liability on the ground
that it was a mere leaser.
It said that in the aftermath of the tragedy,
ALI and APMC "voluntarily extended assistance to the victims by
defraying the cost of medical bills and funeral expenses.
