A taste of ‘Tablescapes:
Life on a Plate’

Take one US-educated chef and add one of the prettiest muses on national TV and you have a truly tasty and innovative television show. "Tablescapes: Life on a Plate," airing on Mondays, 11 p.m. on Studio 23, is the newest cooking show with a twist because it is also a travel show
that makes viewers see the most beautiful places in the Philippines that have never been explored before.

Like a sumptuous surprise dish, you don’t know what to expect with "Tablescapes." It is definitely not your typical cooking or travel show. The show is set to change the television landscape as it introduces the best dishes of different provinces; teaches different table settings that one can use; shows home decorations and teaches the right ways of using it. Plus, it gives an exciting glimpse of a famous celebrity’s lifestyle, their favorite food, places and many more!

"Tablescapes" is ably hosted by Chef Bruce Lim and Angel Aquino. Chef Bruce takes care of the cooking in the show. Educated in the US where he has worked with some of the world’s most renowned chefs and food experts, Chef Bruce tours the different provinces of the country and showcases his cooking skills by teaching viewers how to prepare different delicious dishes. He even invites natives from the featured province to show them their specialty and then Chef Bruce makes his own delightful version.

A graduate of Grand Diplome in Cuisine and Pastry from Le Cordon Bleu in London and has even worked in the MGM hotel in Las Vegas, Chef Bruce is a natural in front of the camera. And why not? His easy going charm and natural wit will definitely make cooking viewing a pleasure.

Meanwhile, the muse of "Tablescapes," Angel Aquino is known as a lifestyle TV host and character actress but shares that hosting this show is a dream come true for her. She has always wanted to do a travel show and now she gets to go around the provinces they will feature to highlight various trivia and tidbits and share a little know-how to educate and entertain viewers.

On the other hand, Chef Bruce shares, "After seeing the show, I want our viewers to appreciate our country even more and to show them how to improve their cooking skills. Pinoys love to eat and to travel so I hope through this show we can give them a taste of both."

Another aspect to look forward to in "Tablescapes" is the specially made studio kitchen. This kitchen is a sight-to-behold where celebrity guests sample Chef Bruce’s tasty talent in preparing dishes. The kitchen, designed by Rupert Acuna, has the look and feel that is very Filipino. In fact, their pilot guest, a renowned TV host and product endorser has nothing but praises for the show, looking forward to what the show will bring to viewers.

"Tablescapes" is conceptualized and directed by renowned TV director Pinggoy Generoso, a staple in different hit ABS-CBN lifestyle shows. Toffie Nerviza serves as Unit Director.
