Dingdong grounded on Pinoy values

Dingdong Dantes may be in cloud nine as one of the world’s sexiest men, but his feet remain on the ground.

For Dingdong, it is important to visit the girl in her house and meet her parents personally. Even at a time when bars are becoming the meeting place for lovers-to-be, a man should keep his Filipino values intact. And this is the theme of Dingdong’s latest Gran Matador Brandy commercial that also features on-screen partner Marian Rivera.

"Kung seryosohang usapan, seryosohang proseso rin dapat," said the Gran Matador Brandy endorser who is making waves with his portrayal as Fredo in "Dyesebel" on GMA-7.

"Of course, if I would have a daughter, I would want her future boyfriend to go through that process. Maaring hindi yan pormal na pag-uusap ng tatay at isang manliligaw pero iba pa rin kung hihingin mo ng pormal yung kamay ng babae sa mga magulang n’ya at magpapaalam ka," Dingdong explained.

He added, "It’s because our Filipino culture really values respect. Getting to know the family is also a chance to bond with them and thus, this is also a chance to celebrate."

"I’m a hundred percent Filipino so everything I believe in emanates from the values and culture passed on to me by my parents and teachers," Dingdong said.

But it doesn’t end there as a man should be responsible and capable of supporting a family.

"The strength of a man might not be physical, might not be financial, but he is measured through his commitment and through his character," Dingdong ended.
