‘Is it really because she’s jealous of newcomer Krissa Mae, said to have dated Polo earlier?’

Jean snubs rumored bf Polo

HOW did Jean Garcia feel when she watched the
love scenes between Polo Ravales and Joseph Bitangcol in Joel Lamangan’s "Walang Kawala" where she plays the cops wife who help them escape from their tormentor, Emilio Garcia?

"Honestly, hindi ako prepared at napatili ako," she says. "Napanood ko ‘yung mga eksena nila sa dubbing and I was shocked. Hindi ko akalaing ganun ka-torrid kaya naiskandalo ako."

When we saw the film’s trailer, Jean herself has a memorable scene it. This is when Emilio, who plays her abusive husband, beat her up brutally and later, Emilio cries to her, repentant and asking for forgiveness and she willingly forgives him despite the dehumanizing treatment given to her. It’s not only in "Walang Kawala" that Jean and Polo appear together but also in "Gagambino" where they both play villain to lead Dennis Trillo. At its presscon, it was obvious Jean was giving Polo the cold shoulder treatment. Is it really because she’s jealous of newcomer Krissa Mae, said to have dated Polo earlier?

Jean kept on laughing and won’t answer at first. "Let’s just talk about ‘Walang Kawala’ and ‘Gagambino’ na lang, huwag na ‘yun," she says. "Kung may mga lakad sila, hindi ko pinakikialaman ‘yun kaya huwag na lang nyo kaming intrigahin. Last week, pinipilit na nagli-live in na kami sa isang condo. Ngayon naman, nagseselosan na kami’t gustong paghiwalayin. Ano ba yan?"

GMA Network had a grand launch last Friday night for its spanking new building, the GMA Annex Studios housing two cavernous studios and featuring the latest in broadcast equipment and technology. It’s worth P1 billion and they built without making any loans but just banking on their own earnings. They presented a musical special called "Experience GMA" with Regine Velasquez doing the opening number.

Richard Gutierrez presented the concept of the show which is to experience "fun, fantasy, anger pain, laughter, romance, power and passion" through the various production numbers they’ve prepared. While he was reading his spiel, a cameraman blocked his sight and he can no longer read what’s on the teleprompter. But naturally, it spoiled the evening for him and he walked out.

Iza Calzado came on stage to read the spiels that he missed. Richard returned later and finished the rest of the spiels with Iza. We’re sure Annabelle would have concluded that someone is really sabotaging her son. But these cameramen "na hahara-hara" are really so common even in regular presscons, blocking the way of writers so we can’t see the presidential table.

The center of the special were Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid as their "Bubble Gang" personas, Angelina and Yaya. Through them in the "Experience Laughter" segment, viewers were able to tour the various studios and facilities of GMA Annex. Jay R did Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the "Experience Anger" portion with the Powerdanz and UP Concert Chorus. Another showstopper is the dance number of Katrina Halili and Rochelle Pangilinan as they do the "Eat Bulaga" theme song arranged in a classical style. Regine returned in the "Experience Pain" portion with Basil Valdez. Jonalyn Viray, Maricris Garcia and Aicelle Santos did a song number for "Experience Romance." In "Experience Beauty," Jaya and Jay Durias sang then the most good-looking stars of the network paraded on stage like they’re doing a fashion show. Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes (someone should tell him his moustache and goatee don’t become him, making him look older) did the flamenco for the "Experience Passion" portion while Kyla and tenor Ervin Lumauag did the finale, "Experience Triumph."

Obviously, Jennylyn Mercado has not forgiven Patrick Garcia and still feels bitter about him. She was re-launched in "SOP" last Sunday and she says she has no intention of showing their baby, called Jazz, to Patrick. Her batchmates in "Star Struck 1" were there to support her: Mark Herras, Rainier Catillo, Yasmien Kurdi, Katrina Halili, Sheena Halili, and others. Everyone who saw her thinks Jen looks sexier now that she is an unwed mother. In interviews with her later on, she emphasized that it’s not yet time for Patrick to see their son. "Anak ko lang ito at hindi ko matatanggap na ama siya ng aking anak," she said, sounding like a drama queen.

How come the stories about Roxanne Guinoo’s alleged confrontation with Jake Cuenca in Guam make it appear that Jake is the aggrieved party, with Roxanne attacking him, clawing him and pouncing on him so he ended up black and blue?

"I really feel sad sa mga lumalabas na ganito, gayong wala namang nangyaring ganun sa amin," says Roxanne. "Ang alam ko, lahat kaming nagpunta sa Guam to perform in ‘ASAP,’ naging masaya kami. Nag-bonding kami roon. Tapos biglang may mga lumalabas na ganyang issues na nalasing pa raw ako, nagwala at sinugod si Jake."

So she’s not jealous now that Jake has reportedly transferred his attention to Bea Alonzo? "Why should I be? The truth is mas masaya ako ngayong wala akong boyfriend. Nakaka-move on na ako sa nangyari sa amin ni Jake. We gave ourselves a chance then. E siguro, talagang hanggang doon lang ‘yun. One thing I realized is that hindi mo kailangan ng boyfriend para maging happy ka at kumpleto ang buhay mo."

Lovi Poe wants to thank all those who watched her "Bloom" concert at Music Museum last week, but she wants to correct the impression that her mom, former actress-model Rowena Moran, boycotted the show because she resents the fact that Lovi’s rumored boyfriend, Jolo Revilla, bought majority of the tickets for the concert.

"My mom was there," she says. "Nag-lie low na nga siya and came incognito, pero naintriga pa rin. Ayaw na nga niyang iparamdam na nandun siya kasi tiyak na iinterbyuhin siya. Dahil hindi nila siya kilala, inintriga namang binoycot daw ang show ko. And it’s not true that Jolo bought majority of the tickets. He bought many tickets for his relatives and friends, pero hindi naman majority ng tickets, siya ang bumili. Tama na sana ang intriga. Basta I’m happy that the concert did well at lahat ng nanood nito, they told me they enjoyed my performance and they liked all the songs that I’ve chosen for the show."

Lovi is also happy to play the role of Eula Valdez’ adopted daughter in "La Lola." She has her own super powers and is paired with Marky Cielo. This week, in "La Lola," JC De Vera as Facundo learns that Lola was the one who donated blood for him. But with the death of Ada (Jewel Mishce), Sera (Iza Calzado) gets more mad and increases the punishment for Lalo turned Lola. Lola now becomes totally changed, having been given the heart of a woman.

To help the Aguirres in their deal with Japanese investors, Gary (Keempee de Leon) dresses her up fashionably and she presents herself as the girlfriend of Lalo and she is given the chance to present her plans to the investors, who are all amazed at how good her ideas are. Lola suddenly feels so hot. It turns out that the statue of Lalo is on fire and if gets totally destroyed, then he’d lose all his chances of regaining his former self again.

Lola and Facundo meet in a party and they kiss. It’s a magic moment for them.

Paolo Ballesteros has long been rumored to be a closet gay since he started cross-dressing in the gay pageants of "Eat Bulaga." Unlike other actors who get offended when they were reported to be gay, Paolo took it in good stride and even played a transvestite role in "Zaido." He was last seen as Bukanding in the recently concluded "Dyesebel." At the launching of GMA-7’s spanking new studios, Paolo confessed that he’s the actor who’s reported in blind items as a father to be. His US-based girlfriend named Kaye will deliver their love child, a baby girl, on the last week of November and he’s hoping the baby will share his birthday, November 29. He and Kaye used to be classmates in college and they went steady until she moved to Chicago, Illinois. Early this year, after "Zaido" ended, Paolo went to the US to visit his sick dad in New York.

He met with Kaye there and something happened between them while he was staying there. So now, he’ll soon be a father. He’ll be flying there in November to make sure he’s with Kaye when she delivers their baby. But no, they haven’t talked about getting married.

"Mahirap ang arrangement kasi nandito ang trabaho ko at hindi rin naman ganun kadali for me to be petitioned para mabigyan ako ng permit to live there," he says. "Basta I promised Kaye that I will support our baby sa abot ng aking makakaya."
