Biodiversity mag off the press

The latest issue of the Asean Biodiversity magazine is off the press.

Rolly Inciong, head of public affairs of the Asean Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), announced that the 62-page quarterly magazine, an international publication that deals with biodiversity issues and concerns in Southeast Asia, has a new design and layout to meet the changing needs of target readers.

The new issue focuses on the relationship between biodiversity and climate change and features an article written by Dr. Ahmed Djoghlaf, executive secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity. It also reports on European Union policies on climate change, Vietnam’s experience in mitigating climate change, the global Green Wave tree planting campaign and features of Johor National Park in Malaysia and Chu Mon Ray National Park in Vietnam. It also has news about the work of ACB.

The magazine has a four-page pullout on various Southeast Asian plant species, a useful reference for students.

Dr. Monina Uriarte, editor-in-chief, said the launch of the re-designed magazine coincided with the EU-Asean Ambassadors’ Day on September 30 in celebration of the 3rd founding anniversary of ACB, an intergovernmental regional centre of excellence that facilitates cooperation and coordination among the members of Asean.
