The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said it was reducing banks’ reserve requirement ratio (RRR) by 1 percentage point beginning March 2, a move that could pump between “P80 to P100 billion” into the economy but put fresh pressure on the peso, which has sunk to near 12-year lows.

China Banking Corporation (China Bank) posted P3.93 billion in consolidated net income for the first nine months of 2013, 25.0 percent higher compared to the end-September 2012 earnings of P3.14 billion. This translates to a return on average equity of 11.78  percent and return on average assets of 1.55 percent.
